Picture_203

Try Potting Shed Creations¹ certified-organic sunflower-in-a-bag, which
contains everything you need to sprout a wee version of the cheery spring
herald. The flowers, which blossom 60 to 70 days after germination, last up
to five weeks ‹ far longer than cut blooms that wilt after a few days. The
best part? Your tot can color and personalize the bag to create a great gift
for anyone pining for the return of sunnier days. http://bit.ly/dAEtqc

The Art of Simple Food

Picture_4

My children's school start an edible garden program supported and endorsed
by Alice Waters. Naïve about who Alice Waters is, I decided to pick up a
copy of her book, The Art of Simple Food. This food makes me want to be a
better cook or even a cook at all. It is such a practical, informative
cookbook. Treat yourself, and add this book to your collection.

Weekend Gardening Activity with the Kids

Picture_3

Looking for a fun activity to do with the kids this weekend. Try making your own organic planting pots out of newspaper. The final product (ie the pots) are great for your small plants, they can be put very tightly together and when the plant is ready to be put into the ground you can plant it with pot still on. The paper will gradually break down in the ground.
